Composition Books

I am a paper addict. Seriously. I have a fascination with scrapbook paper... and I shouldn't because I really don't have any more room for any more stinking paper. LOL! So, I went to Joann's and they had the DCWV paper stacks on sale... and my friend's daughter had a birthday...inspiration!

I am going to enter this in the Wags and Whiskers Challenge "Pop it up". I didn't really want to use dimensionals on this since it will be used to write in so I added a flower. I hope that counts as a pop up. I also added small little "pops" on the back... read on.

I really like composition books. They are easy to cover, look really cool and are easy to personalize. I had bought small composition books at Target during the after school sale. They came in a little package 2 for $0.50. Of course, I bought a whole bunch. :-) I used some paper from DCWV Flower Shower Spring Stack. Really cute glittery paper.

The Stamp is Wags and Whiskers Happy Day colored in Twinkling H2Os. So cute! I kind of freehand measured everything and added a ribbon I found from the dollar spot at Target to hold the pen. I put some of the same DP in the inside of the RSVP pen. Easy! The following is the back:

I cut my friends' daughter's name with my Cricut and added Taylor's Tiny Twinkles to the name.

The next one is the basically the same concept except I used the stamp Bedtime Story from Wags and Whiskers.

Of course, my son Gabriel (who is 9) is fascinated with any art projects. He's always painting, coloring, etc. He is dying to use my Twinkling H2Os... not sure if I'm ready for that yet. Anyway, he saw me making the composition books and wanted me to make one for him.

I used the High Hopes stamp Time Well Spent. He really likes this stamp because he says it looks like him and our chocolate lab fishing in the backyard. He wanted me to paint them with the Twinkling H2Os.
He wanted to write his own name on the back. OK. What could I say?
Anyway, thanks so much for looking!

My Hunny Bunny

I call my husband Hunny Bunny. Or Honey Bunches of Oats. There is a story to each of those names and reasons which are quite funny but that's for another day.... :-)

Anyway, he had a birthday and I have been waiting a long time to use this stamp from High Hopes. It's called Bunny Love. I thought is was perfect. He really liked it too. I wish the pic was better but it was a dark stormy day outside so the natural lighting was not too bright.

I am entering it in the Cute Card Thursday Challenge 103. They are celebrating their 2nd anniversary and their theme is to celebrate! Katharina Frei is also giving away a cool prize. Check it out here.

I used an old sketch from Taylored Expressions (TECC48). The card base is PTI Kraft. The image was embossed on watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os. I used Cotton Ball White Fun Flock on their bellies and tails. You can't really tell in the pic though. It feels really cool though - Fuzzy! :-) The Birthday Sentiment was printed on SU Very Vanilla. The button is SU. The DP is SU Parisian Breeze.

Thanks for looking!

Bedtime Bear

I really need to learn how to use my camera. I have a Canon Rebel XSi. I am not a photographer. I usually use the manual settings. I take some really decent outdoor pics but I need to learn how to take some really good indoor pics and use the SLR settings. However you call it... I don't know photography lingo. I am wanting to take a photography class this summer...research, research...
Anyway, onto the card...
I am entering this one into the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #102 and the High Hopes Challenge 65 - Orange Brown plus circle.

Okay - I just have to say that I really like the polka dot glitter DP from DCWV Animal Stack. I am not happy that there were only two sheets of it. This paper is awesome. I have to share a Sketch Pad that I made using Kristina Werner's tutorial another day.... yes, using the same polka dot DP. :-)
The card base is PTI Summer Sunrise. The blue (SU Bashful Blue) was embossed with my Cuttlebug. I turned the TE Sketch on its side so that it would work with the big image. The stamp is High Hopes Bedtime Bear embossed on Watercolor Paper and colored with Twinkling H2Os. The spacer and star charm are from Stamp and Create.
